Meat Stock in Cimahi Safe Ahead of Eid, What Are the Prices?
Food commodity prices in Cimahi City, West Java have remained high since the beginning of Ramadan. Nevertheless, availability and supplies are guaranteed to be adequate through Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri, so citizens have no need to worry.
As monitored at Pasar Atas Baru in Cimahi City on Friday, 6 March 2026, beef prices continue to hold at around 140,000 rupiah per kilogramme. Traders acknowledge they cannot reduce prices because wholesale costs have already risen.
“The price is currently 140,000 rupiah per kilogramme. The wholesale price is already high, so traders have no other choice,” said Suryana (58), a trader at Pasar Atas Baru.
He predicted prices would rise further towards Eid due to the usual increase in demand. Nevertheless, Suryana assured that beef stock remains adequate and sufficient.
“The price might reach 160,000-170,000 rupiah towards Eid because there is usually an increase. Stock is safe; currently I stock about 800 kilogrammes per day, but towards Eid it usually rises to perhaps 1.5 tonnes,” he said.
Chicken prices similarly remain at around 41,000 rupiah per kilogramme. Prices typically stood below 40,000 rupiah per kilogramme before Ramadan. This price increase is normal for major holidays, according to traders.
“The price is currently 41,000 rupiah. Prices vary depending on chicken size, as we have both large and small birds. Prices usually rise further towards Eid. Stock is safe,” said Neni, a chicken trader.
