Meat Bazaar Reaches 816 Locations Across Jakarta
Efforts to provide affordable animal protein continue to be expanded through the holding of food bazaars. As of June 2026, a total of 816 bazaar points have been held as part of a target to reach 1,416 locations by the end of the year. President Director of Perumda Dharma Jaya, Raditya Endra Budiman, explained that the bazaars are held regularly using food trucks that travel around residential areas across Jakarta.
“Our main aim is to ensure that animal protein distribution can be accessed directly by the public. With 816 points already running, we are optimistic that the target of 1,416 points by the end of the year can be achieved,” said Raditya in a statement on Friday (10/7).
To broaden the distribution reach, the number of refrigerated vehicles has been increased from two to four units. This step was taken so that meat deliveries can reach more points while product quality remains preserved until received by consumers.
“This additional fleet is our investment to maintain product quality until it reaches consumers, while also improving distribution speed in line with public needs,” he said.
The bazaar programme has received a positive response from residents. Siti Aminah, a resident of Klender Subdistrict, said she regularly shops at the bazaar because the meat prices offered are more affordable than at traditional markets.
“It is quite helpful because the prices are cheaper and the location is close to home, so there is no need to travel far to the market,” she said.
A similar view was expressed by Budi Santoso, a resident of Kramat Jati. He considered the presence of the food trucks makes it easier for residents to obtain meat supplies without having to spend a lot of time travelling to the market.
As a regional state-owned enterprise in the food sector, Perumda Dharma Jaya said the bazaars form part of efforts to maintain food price stability, broaden public access to animal protein needs, and support inflation control in Jakarta.
