MDMC West Sumatra and Tzu Chi Foundation Distribute Eid Assistance Packages to Kauman Islamic Boarding School
The Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Centre (MDMC) West Sumatra, in collaboration with the Tzu Chi Foundation Indonesia, distributed Eid Assistance Packages to teachers and staff at Kauman Muhammadiyah Islamic Boarding School in Padang Panjang City on Tuesday (10 March).
The event, held at the Hamka Hall of Kauman Muhammadiyah Boarding School, was attended by Deputy Mayor Allex Saputra. A total of 97 Eid packages were distributed to teachers and boarding school staff, containing rice, cooking oil, and various other essential goods.
Deputy Mayor Allex expressed appreciation for the commitment of MDMC West Sumatra and the Tzu Chi Foundation Indonesia in sharing happiness with the Kauman Boarding School community ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
He noted that collaboration among various parties in humanitarian activities such as this demonstrates strong mutual spirit and social awareness within the community.
“This shows that humanitarian organisations are not only present during disasters, but also in moments of joy welcoming Eid al-Fitr,” he said.
He also affirmed that the Padang Panjang City Government is ready to provide support for various programmes conducted by Kauman Boarding School in promoting social and community activities.
Meanwhile, MDMC West Sumatra Chair Portito stated that cooperation with the Tzu Chi Foundation is concrete evidence that humanitarian values can unite various community elements regardless of background.
“This activity is part of MDMC’s commitment to continuously strengthen the spirit of mutual cooperation. This is not merely assistance, but how we embrace and help one another,” he said.
