Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Mining issuer PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk (MDKA) has announced it will distribute a cash dividend of up to Rp300 billion. This was approved at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders and Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) held electronically on Tuesday, 23 June 2026. MDKA President Director Albert Saputro stated that the cash dividend will be distributed from a portion of the company’s retained earnings. “We are seeing improved operational performance, better cost discipline, and significant progress across the company’s key growth platforms. This dividend decision reflects our confidence in the company’s prospects and our commitment to delivering long-term value to shareholders,” Albert said in a written statement, quoted on Wednesday, 24 June 2026. Through its subsidiary, PT Merdeka Gold Resources Tbk (EMAS), the company commenced its first gold pour in February 2026 and its first gold sale in March 2026. EMAS recorded production of 1,818 ounces of gold and initial sales of 516 ounces in the first quarter of 2026, as an early step towards the 2026 production target of 100,000 to 115,000 ounces. In the nickel sector, PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk (MBMA) recorded strong ore production growth at the Konawe nickel mine, with saprolite production rising 72% year-on-year and limonite production increasing 195% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026. The SLNC HPAL facility reached 95% construction progress, while the AIM plant recorded commissioning output of 120,911 tonnes of sulphuric acid during the quarter. In addition to the dividend, shareholders also approved MDKA’s plan to conduct a Capital Increase Without Pre-emptive Rights IV (private placement) of up to 2,447,298,377 shares, or a maximum of 10% of the company’s total issued and fully paid-up shares. The meeting also approved changes to the composition of MDKA’s Board of Directors. Mirdal Vismara Timoer, Mohammad Fitriyansyah, and M.P. Riyadi Effendy (Teddy Effendy) were appointed as Directors of the company. The meeting also accepted the resignations of Jason Laurence, David Thomas Fowler, and Chrisanthus Supriyo from their respective positions as Directors.
