MCGJWC 2026 to Host 140 Young Golfers from 29 Nations
The Mandiri Ciputra Golfpreneur Junior World Championship (MCGJWC) 2026 is once again a prestigious stage for the world’s young golfers. The event, taking place at Damai Indah Golf, PIK Course, Jakarta, from 10 to 12 June 2026, brings together 140 junior athletes from 29 countries. The competition affirms MCGJWC’s status as one of the most prestigious junior golf tournaments in the Asia Pacific region. Participants come from various countries to measure their skills and compete at an international level. This year, the organisers are presenting a larger scale of competition compared to previous editions. The presence of participants from Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East demonstrates the tournament’s broadening appeal. The 29 participating countries include Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Chinese Taipei, Denmark, Germany, Ghana, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Kenya, South Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Namibia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uganda, the United Arab Emirates, England, and Vietnam.
Chairman of the Ciputra Golfpreneur Foundation (CGF), Nararya Ciputra Sastrawinata, stated that this year’s MCGJWC enters a new chapter with a collaboration with the Asia Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC). The partnership is expected to enhance the quality and competitiveness of the event. ‘This year is the first year we are working with APGC. This is in line with Ciputra Golfpreneur Foundation’s vision to organise a more prestigious tournament on a larger scale, so that Indonesian junior athletes can continuously get opportunities at an ever-increasing level of competition,’ Nararya said during a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday. According to Nararya, the MCGJWC is not just an arena for vying for the champion’s title. The tournament is also an important vehicle for young athletes to gain experience competing against the best players from various countries. The event, which has been held since 1993, continues to produce talented young golfers. The experience of competing at an international level is considered an important foundation before athletes step into the professional ranks. ‘If they later continue their careers as professional athletes, they will already have the same level as the athletes they will meet in the professional golf world. We hope that with the experience of appearing in this year’s MCGJWC, they can achieve more and improve their level of skill on an international scale,’ Nararya added. The organisers are also again providing a career development pathway for the champions. The best athletes in the individual categories will have the opportunity to appear in professional tournaments as part of a continuous development process. The boys’ champion will receive a ticket to the Ciputra Golfpreneur Tournament, which is on the 2026 Asian Development Tour calendar. Meanwhile, the girls’ champion is entitled to appear in the 2027 Indonesia Women’s Open, which is part of the KLPGA Dream Tour. General Manager of the Asia Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC), Nick Shan, assessed that MCGJWC has developed into one of the best junior golf competitions in the Asia Pacific region. He said the number of international participants attending is proof of the tournament’s quality. ‘The number of players coming from various countries is extraordinary, and this is clearly an example of an international junior golf event that should be held throughout the Asia Pacific. MCGJWC is a benchmark for many countries,’ Nick stated. With the support of participants from dozens of countries and international tournament standards, MCGJWC 2026 is expected to once again be an arena of fierce competition for the world’s young golfers. The tournament simultaneously opens opportunities for Indonesian junior athletes to hone their skills and raise their competitive level on the global stage.
Senior Vice President of Corporate Banking at Bank Mandiri, Yustian Rifki Alfianto, said that Bank Mandiri’s support as the main partner of MCGJWC is part of the company’s commitment to presenting an integrated ecosystem service synergy. This is achieved not only through support for the development of sporting achievement but also by providing various digital transaction solutions that offer convenience for all participants, organisers, and tournament visitors. ‘Bank Mandiri is committed to continuing to support the talent development of young Indonesian golf athletes so they can compete at the global level. Through MCGJWC 2026, we want to deliver broader added value, not only for junior athletes but also for the entire sports ecosystem through easy and integrated digital banking service support. This is part of our step to create growth acceleration for society and Indonesia,’ Yustian concluded.
