JAKARTA (JP): The management of McDonald's Indonesia donated Rp 500,000 in cash and parcels to 50 orphans from the Kebon Melati orphanage in Central Jakarta.

"McDonald's intends to share this happy moment with orphans from orphanages in Greater Jakarta," Bambang said. He added that McDonald's opened its first outlet in Indonesia in 1991.

The company opened its 24th outlet at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in West Jakarta yesterday.

He explained that similar donations were presented simultaneously in the company's outlets in Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Malang and Bali. In all, 1,150 children from 23 orphanages received parcels and broke their fasts at McDonald's restaurants yesterday. (yns)
