McDonald's closed after fire

JAKARTA: A fire broke out at the McDonald's fast-food outlet on the ground floor of the Sarinah shopping center on Jl. Thamrin, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday afternoon.

A technician at the branch, Agus, said the fire may have been caused by an electrical fault.

At least 10 fire engines arrived at the fire, which was out within an hour.

It was unclear if their were any injuries or how much damage was caused.

The branch, the target of a number of anti-American demonstrations, was still closed on Friday afternoon. --JP
