McDonald's Botania Outlet Opens 24 Hours, Fanindo Eyes Regional Economic Growth
The opening of a McDonald’s outlet in the Botania area of Batam not only adds to the dining options for the public but also forms part of the development of economic activity in the area.
The outlet, which officially began operating on Saturday (15/8/2026), is the fifth McDonald’s in Batam City and the 316th in Indonesia.
Fanindo Executive Director Daniel Fan said the presence of the fast-food restaurant is expected to have an impact on the development of the Botania business district.
According to him, the presence of a new tenant can serve as a catalyst for increased public activity while opening up new business and investment opportunities in the surrounding area.
“This is certainly a business opportunity and can help boost the economy in Batam. McDonald’s presence will be an investment for Batam in providing a more diverse range of food menus, particularly in the Botania area,” Daniel said during the grand opening on Saturday (15/8/2026).
Daniel said McDonald’s Botania is the third outlet located within the Fanindo business centre. At the same time, the company is continuing the development of the plaza area located behind the outlet.
The development of the area is aimed at increasing the economic value of the district while expanding business activity in Botania.
“We hope that by doing so, we can continue to increase the economic value of this area,” he said.
From an operational perspective, the presence of the new outlet also has a direct impact on the surrounding community through job creation.
McDonald’s Indonesia Assistant Director of Operations Riki Purnama said most of the employees recruited for the Botania outlet come from the surrounding neighbourhood.
He said this step is part of the company’s commitment to ensuring that business expansion also benefits the community around the business location.
“McDonald’s is present not only by building, but also by helping to promote the welfare of local residents. The majority of the employees we recruited are local residents. This is our commitment to grow together,” he explained.
In addition to creating jobs, McDonald’s also distributed donations to a mosque located near the outlet as part of the grand opening programme.
Riki said the Botania area still has open business prospects in line with the development and growth of Batam City.
For this reason, McDonald’s chose to open an outlet with full 24-hour service to meet the needs of the community in the area.
The McDonald’s Botania outlet is equipped with facilities similar to other McDonald’s outlets. Customers can also order food directly or through online delivery services, including GrabFood and GoFood.
Riki expressed hope that the presence of the new outlet will not only expand McDonald’s service reach but also provide economic benefits for the people of Batam.
“McDonald’s presence here is not just about doing business, but also about bringing benefits to the people of Batam,” he said.
