McDonald's at Pasaraya
JAKARTA (JP): McDonald Indonesia and PT Pasaraya Nusakarya have reached an agreement for the opening of Indonesia's 38th McDonald's outlet in the Pasaraya building in Blok M, South Jakarta.
The agreement was signed on Saturday by Bambang N. Rachmadi, managing director of McDonald Indonesia, and Usman Djafar, president of PT Pasaraya Nusakarya.
Under the agreement, McDonald's will start operating in the basement of the Pasaraya building next December.
"The signing of the agreement constitutes the first step of our intention to make the Pasaraya Food Court the largest in Indonesia, serving the biggest variety of food," Usman said.
PT Pasaraya Nusakarya claims it was the first company to use the food court concept in Indonesia. Pasaraya food court, opened in 1984, combines restaurants serving traditional food with fast food restaurants in one location to offer customers a wider choice of food.
Pasaraya food court is now being expanded to be the largest in Indonesia with a total area of 4,348 square meters involving 105 food sellers. (hhr)
