The host of the quiz competition (LCC) for socialising the four pillars of the MPR among high schools in West Kalimantan, Shindy Lutfiana, has expressed an apology for her statements while moderating the competition on 9 May 2026. The MPR LCC in West Kalimantan has drawn controversy because the judging panel was deemed to have not provided fair assessments to the participants.

Shindy’s apology was conveyed through her personal Instagram account @shindy_mcwedding on Tuesday, 12 May 2026. “I, Shindy Lutfiana, as the MC, would like to apologise for the mistakes in my statements during the final round of the Cerdas Cermat Quiz Competition (LCC) on the Four Pillars of the MPR RI 2026 in West Kalimantan Province,” Shindy wrote on her Instagram account.

Shindy apologised for her statement in the event where she said, “Maybe that’s just how the younger siblings feel,” in response to an interruption from one participant regarding allegations of judging errors. Shindy stated that such a statement was inappropriate for her to make.

She realised that the statement had disappointed and harmed the competition participants, including the teachers and chaperones from SMAN 1 Pontianak. “Regarding this incident, from the deepest part of my heart, I apologise to all parties who are disappointed, hurt, or affected by my statements,” she said. She promised that this event would be a valuable lesson to be more careful in carrying out her duties.

The Cerdas Cermat Quiz on the Four Pillars of the MPR on 9 May 2026 drew controversy because the judging panel did not provide fair assessments to two groups of participants in the final round. This incident came under scrutiny after a clip of the live broadcast of the competition went viral on social media.

The incident began with three finalists—SMA Negeri 1 Pontianak, SMA Negeri 1 Sambas, and SMA Negeri 1 Sanggau—competing to answer the question: “In selecting BPK members, the DPR must consider input from which institution?”

Team C from SMAN 1 Pontianak answered first, stating that BPK members are selected by the DPR considering input from the Dewan Perwakilan Daerah and formalised by the President.

Judge Dyastasita deemed the answer insufficiently precise and awarded minus 5 points. Dyastasita is the Head of the Assessment Bureau of the Secretariat General of the MPR.

Meanwhile, with the same answer, Team B from SMAN 1 Sambas was judged correct and received 10 points. This was then protested by participants from SMAN 1 Pontianak who had answered first. However, the judges reasoned that SMA N 1 Pontianak did not mention the words “input from DPD”. This was then refuted by the participants of Team C.
