MBMA Plans Share Buyback, Allocating Rp1.38 Trillion
PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk. (MBMA) has announced plans to conduct a share buyback of up to 1,465,000,000 shares. The fund allocation for this corporate action is a maximum of Rp1.38 trillion.
The share repurchase is planned to take place following MBMA’s disclosure of the plan to the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), specifically on 16 September 2026. The implementation period will last for a maximum of three months after the disclosure date, or until 16 December 2026, or until the number of shares repurchased reaches 1,465,000,000 units, or the allocated funds are exhausted, or the Company decides to conclude the buyback before 16 December 2026.
In its information disclosure, MBMA stated that the share buyback will be carried out either gradually or in full through the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The Company will appoint a securities firm to execute the repurchase.
The nickel issuer ensured that the source of funds used for the share repurchase complies with the provisions of POJK 13/2023 and POJK 29/2023.
“The Company estimates that the execution of the share repurchase will not result in a decrease in revenue and will not impact the Company’s financing costs,” MBMA management stated in the disclosure cited on Thursday (17/9/2026).
MBMA management also hopes that the implementation of the buyback will not affect the Company’s business and operational activities.
“This share repurchase is conducted in order to maintain share price stability and increase investor confidence, so that the Company’s share price can more fairly reflect its fundamental value,” explained MBMA management.
Furthermore, the Company will manage the transfer of the repurchased shares in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, particularly POJK 13/2023 and POJK 29/2023.
