MBG Volunteers in Jogja Assert They Are Not Anti-Criticism, Ready to Improve Service Quality
Kitchen workers for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme, who are part of the MBG Volunteers in DIY, emphasised that they are not anti-criticism towards public feedback on the quality of food in the programme. The criticisms that have emerged were described as being used as a basis for evaluating and improving the MBG kitchen services.
Roy Marjuk, President of the MBG Volunteers, said the volunteers recognise that public input is important for improving service quality.
‘Yes, criticism is very good for building us up, for our reflection, for our improvement. We as volunteers will, of course, improve our performance. We must not have negligence or mistakes,’ Roy told reporters at GOR Amongrogo, Jogja City, Saturday (7/3/2026).
Roy said the MBG kitchen workers who are part of the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) are committed to evaluating the services that have been running so far.
In his view, mistakes on the ground are human. But he ensured the volunteers will continue to make improvements so that MBG services run smoothly.
‘Human beings make mistakes, and so on. If there are mistakes, we will continue to try to fix them, we will continue to evaluate,’ he asserted.
As part of the commitment, around 5,000 SPPG workers who are part of the DIY MBG Volunteers held an oath to improve performance and maintain the quality of MBG’s service.
Roy said this oath-taking event was the first of its kind and is planned to be conducted in other regions as well.
‘After this oath, the volunteer colleagues want to maintain their spirit to improve and uphold the MBG service performance,’ he added.
