MBG Task Force Urges SPPGs to Maintain Quality Despite Changes to Incentive Rules
Pamekasan (ANTARA) – The East Java district’s Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) task force has urged Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPGs) to maintain food quality despite changes to the programme’s incentive rules.
Pamekasan MBG Task Force chair Sukriyanto said on Thursday that the National Nutrition Agency had changed the incentive from Rp6 million per day to Rp2,000 per portion.
“The change to the incentive scheme could prompt different responses, but it must not affect the quality of food provided to beneficiaries,” he said.
He added that nutritional standards must be maintained because the programme directly addresses the nutritional needs of school pupils, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and young children.
Haryanto Rahmansyah Tri Arif, the National Nutrition Agency’s regional coordinator in Pamekasan, said the change to incentives for SPPGs was part of efforts to improve the programme’s governance.
“The revised incentives are also intended to ensure fairness for partners, based on the number of portions distributed to beneficiaries,” he said.
In addition to changing the incentive scheme, the agency has capped the number of beneficiaries served by each SPPG at 3,000. The target groups are pupils, Islamic boarding school students, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and children under five, collectively known as the 3B groups.
Haryanto said that since the new incentive rules took effect on 5 October 2026, implementation had been running smoothly, with no problems reported on the ground.
“We hope it will continue to run as expected,” he said.
