MBG Task Force Uncovers 45 Problematic Nutrition Service Units in Pamekasan
Pamekasan (ANTARA) - The Task Force (Satgas) for the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG) in Pamekasan Regency, East Java, has found that 45 out of a total of 117 Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) in the area are problematic. “This is in line with the monitoring results we conducted together with the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) over the past week,” said Sukriyanto, Chairman of the MBG Task Force in Pamekasan, on Thursday. He explained that the issues in the 45 SPPGs include dirty cooking areas or kitchens that do not yet meet the standards set by the BGN, as well as careless food presentation practices. “Therefore, regarding the findings of SPPG workers who are not performing well, the BGN recommends that managers provide technical training on how to present and cook food menus,” he said. Sukriyanto, who is also the Deputy Regent of Pamekasan, further explained that the MBG Task Force and BGN have issued direct reprimands to the managers of the 45 problematic SPPGs. “The main point is that we ask SPPG managers to continuously improve and provide the best service. For the problematic kitchens, they must immediately meet the BGN standards,” he said. “In Pamekasan, there are two SPPGs that do not yet have wastewater treatment facilities (IPAL), namely the SPPG in Murtajih Village and Buddagan Village, Pademawu Subdistrict, Pamekasan,” he added. Regarding the SPPGs without IPAL, the BGN has temporarily suspended operations of both units and will allow them to resume once the facilities are available.
