MBG Task Force Reminds SPPG to Promptly Complete Requirements
Bangkalan (ANTARA) - The Task Force (Satgas) for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Programme in Bangkalan Regency, East Java, has reminded the managers of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) in the area to promptly complete the necessary requirements for the programme’s operations.
The Head of the MBG Task Force in Bangkalan Regency, Bambang Budi Mustika, stated in Bangkalan on Sunday that based on monitoring conducted by the Task Force up to 10 May 2026, only 112 out of a total of 179 MBG kitchens in the region are operational, while the remaining 85 kitchens are not.
“The reason is that these non-operational kitchens do not yet have complete operational permits,” he said.
Furthermore, out of the total 179 MBG kitchens, only 129 have an ID or official registration code from the National Nutrition Agency, while the other 50 do not.
Another deficiency identified by the MBG Task Force regarding SPPG completeness is the lack of permanent kitchen buildings.
“Out of the 179 registered kitchens, there are 68 SPPG that do not yet have permanent kitchens, or are still under construction, which also poses an obstacle to the operation of MBG kitchens in Bangkalan,” he said.
The Head of the MBG Task Force, Bambang Budi Mustika, further explained that the total beneficiaries of the MBG programme in Bangkalan Regency number 328,000 people, spread across 273 villages and eight urban villages in 18 sub-districts throughout the regency.
“These beneficiaries consist of students in various educational institutions, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers, as well as non-Preschool toddlers,” he said.
Regarding the challenges with operational permits and the completeness of facilities and infrastructure, Bambang stated that special approaches have been taken to the managers to accelerate the permit processing.
“We have also coordinated with relevant agency offices to provide assistance, because the MBG programme is a government priority programme,” he explained.
