MBG Nusantara Alliance Backs Nutrition Revolution Based on Pancasila's Fifth Principle and Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution

The momentum of Pancasila Day on 1 June 2026 and the Indonesian President’s speech on 3 June 2026 is considered a new chapter in affirming the state’s consistency in realising social justice. The nutritional transformation through the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme managed by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is being urged not to become merely an economic commodity, but a tangible manifestation of the Fifth Principle of Pancasila and Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution. The Secretary General of the DPP Advocacy for the People of Nusantara (ARUN), who is also Chairman of the MBG Nusantara Foundation Alliance and Founder of KARAT (Territorial People’s Action Committee), Bungas T. Fernando Duling, asserted that the leadership reshuffle at BGN following Pancasila Day must be a momentum to inject constitutional spirit back into the agency’s governance. “The President’s speech on 3 June 2026 in Sentul, Bogor, is concrete proof of the state’s presence. We interpret this message as a call for a ‘Nutrition Revolution’ that must be consolidated immediately,” said the figure known as Nando in a written statement in Jakarta on Friday (5/6). Nando expressed his full support for an equitable moratorium policy in the zoning arrangement of the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG). According to him, strict spacing between SPPG kitchens in accordance with technical guidelines is crucial for the principle of equitable distribution. “This step is expected to give birth to a new face of BGN based on accurate data, so that an ideal SPPG arrangement will produce real-time data on the growth of the nation’s generation. This integrated single nutrition data will become a vital foundation in mapping nutritional interventions towards the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision,” he stressed. Furthermore, the macroeconomic impact of this programme is also a major highlight. With 27,000 SPPG kitchens already operating throughout Indonesia, BGN has absorbed at least 135,000 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) based on real data accessible to the public. This large-scale absorption is part of BGN’s tangible commitment to implementing transparent and accountable 10,000 governance principles. Nando urged that this data be made fully transparent as proof of alignment with the people’s economy, while also calling on all partners and network foundations to fully commit to grassroots economic growth. Facing implementation challenges on the ground, the new BGN leadership is demanded to act firmly and with an iron fist in enforcing compliance across all organic apparatus beneath it. Strict supervision must be carried out without favouritism from the central to regional levels, covering coordination at the Nutrition Service Centre level including KPPG, Regional Heads, Regional Coordinators, District Coordinators, down to SPPG Heads. The President’s order is crystal clear that any organic apparatus violating technical guidelines and tarnishing this noble mission must be dealt with firmly without compromise. As a form of participatory oversight to ensure this national strategic programme runs purely as a public nutrition transformation and not merely a commercial project, the MBG Nusantara Foundation Alliance announced it will open its doors wide to academics and university students. They are invited to conduct in-depth research and live-in programmes within the Alliance’s SPPG kitchen network. At the end of his statement, Nando specifically called on all ARUN cadres, the MBG Nusantara Foundation Alliance, and KARAT to close ranks. These three elements are asked to fully commit and move together to stand upright as the eyes and ears of the President of the Republic of Indonesia on the ground. “This step is to ensure that Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution and Social Justice for All Indonesian People are no longer just slogans, but are tangibly served on the plates of the nation’s children,” he concluded.
