JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The National Nutrition Agency has affirmed that it has never produced ultra-high temperature milk nor entered into contracts with milk producers for the Free Nutritious Meals programme.

This statement responds to the circulation of milk products labelled “SCHOOL MILK. FREE MILK MBG PROGRAMME. NOT FOR SALE” that were being sold in minimarkets.

“BGN has never made contracts or commitments with any producers,” said Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana when met at the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs, Jakarta, on Thursday (2/4/2026).

“So our milk based on SPPG is purchased based on prevailing market prices,” Dadan stated.

BGN does not pay specific producers to supply milk to programme kitchens. Dadan suspects that the specially labelled products were created by producers as a marketing strategy.

“I think there might be producers trying to make it sell well and then sold in the market, it could be like that,” Dadan remarked.

Deputy Head of BGN for Public Communication and Investigation Nanik S. Deyang affirmed the same. She confirmed that BGN has never produced packaged milk products for the MBG programme.

“No, never. Who made that, MBG, BGN doesn’t make milk, right. BGN doesn’t make milk,” Nanik said.

The product had circulated on social media. The selling price was Rp 4,000 for a 125 millilitre package. The packaging label indicates it was produced by PT Ultrajaya Milk Industry & Trading Co. Tbk.

Helina confirmed that the product has been pulled from shelves and is no longer being sold. She stated that the distribution was carried out by a supplier with a contract to the kitchen.

“The supplier is responsible to the kitchen or has a contract with the kitchen,” Helina said when confirmed by Kompas.com.

The company has stopped supplying to that supplier. Going forward, the supplier will no longer receive school milk distribution.

“The supplier party that sold the school milk to that outlet has had its shipments stopped by us and will not be given school milk supplies in the future,” Helina stated.
