MBG Kitchens Banned from Using Subsidised LPG, Cooking Oil, and Rice

The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Sudaryono, has issued a firm directive prohibiting the use of subsidised goods in the preparation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme. He stressed that kitchens under the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) must not use 3kg ‘melon’ LPG canisters, Minyakita cooking oil, or SPHP rice, as these are intended for the public. ‘If a kitchen is found using Minyakita, please report it. We will issue a warning letter. If they remain stubborn, we will close the kitchen. Subsidised goods must not be used,’ Sudaryono stated in Jakarta on Monday. Furthermore, he instructed SPPG kitchens to purchase ingredients like eggs at the government’s official reference price (HAP) to help stabilise market prices, rather than seeking cheaper market rates.
