MBG Corruption Case Involving Dadan et al: Why Rp1 Trillion Electric Motorcycles Cannot Be Seized by Attorney General's Office

The investigation into alleged corruption regarding the governance of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Programme for the 2025-2026 fiscal year within the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has revealed new facts concerning procured goods that are no longer under the control of investigators. The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has emphasised that several items, including an electric motorcycle procurement project valued at over Rp1 trillion, will not be seized because they have already been deployed and distributed to various regions.

The Director of Investigation for the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, explained that these circumstances render seizure unnecessary. “It will not be seized. If the goods have already reached the regions and are being used, we certainly will not carry out a seizure,” he stated on Thursday, 4 June 2026.

Nevertheless, Syarief emphasised that these items remain vital for the evidentiary process. Investigators are no longer focusing on physical seizure but are instead tracing the procurement trails associated with the project. “It is not necessary to seize everything. They can all be used in their respective regions. What we are examining are the procurement trails,” he added.

One project under scrutiny involves the procurement of 21,801 electric motorcycle units with a total value of Rp1,035,515,297,908.02. The Acting Head of the Legal Information Centre at Kejagung, Mochamad Jeffry, added that payments for this procurement were made to PT YAT, which allegedly failed to meet vendor requirements as it lacks active dealerships or workshops, and there are indications of price mark-ups.

Previously, the Attorney General’s Office uncovered serious irregularities in the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Programme, implicating three former high-ranking officials of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) as suspects. Former Head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana, along with two former Deputy Heads, Sony Sanjaya and Lodewyk Pusung, are suspected of exploiting the development of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) through foundations affiliated with them.
