The government, through the Ministry of Finance, has trimmed the MBG program’s budget ceiling in the 2026 State Budget (APBN) from Rp335 trillion to Rp268 trillion, in accordance with the president’s instructions, to ensure MBG funds are managed more effectively and efficiently. The MBG, or Makanan Bergizi Gratis, is delivered by the Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) in schools across Jakarta and the country. On 20 May 2026, officers from the SPPG delivered MBG packages at MTs Negeri 39 Jakarta. The measure is part of a broader government efficiency drive aimed at ensuring public funds for MBG are used more effectively and efficiently.
