Mayor Targets Bekasi to be Free from Messy Overhead Cables within 3 Years

The presence of messy and unsightly overhead cable networks is once again a concern for the Mayor of Bekasi, Tri Addisanto Tjahyono. Consequently, as an effort to beautify the city’s appearance while making it safer and more comfortable, the Bekasi City Government will reorganise telecommunications infrastructure by moving overhead cables underground.

According to the Mayor, this arrangement is being carried out to make the cable networks neater and to reduce the presence of unorganised overhead cables and poles. “From the front to the back, it will be neater and free from messy overhead cables and unorganised poles,” Tri stated in his remarks on Thursday (16/9).

He explained that the cable arrangement will commence in the Perumnas 3 complex, East Bekasi District. The construction of the special underground cable path, or ducting, is scheduled to begin within the next two weeks.

This programme is part of the Bekasi City Government’s efforts to gradually organise telecommunications infrastructure across various regions. The arrangement will not be limited to a single area but will be implemented throughout the entire region in stages.

He also targets that Bekasi City will be free from messy cables within the next three years. “We want the entire Bekasi City area to be more organised. Our target for the next three years is that messy cables can be rectified so that the city becomes safer, more comfortable, and has a better appearance,” he continued.

Tri also invited the public to support various development programmes, as the local government requires cooperation with residents to ensure that every executed policy achieves its intended targets. “We hope that the prayers, support, and contributions of the community can continue to be provided so that development in Bekasi City can proceed more quickly, accurately, and provide wider benefits for all citizens,” he concluded.
