Mayor of Semarang Supports Free Nutritious Meal and KKMP Programmes

The Mayor of Semarang has ensured readiness to support the implementation of several national priority programmes, namely the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG), Sekolah Rakyat (People’s School), and the Merah Putting Village Cooperative (KKMP).

This was stated by the Mayor of Semarang, Agustina Wilujeng, in response to a field inspection by Presidential Staff Maj. Gen. TNI Beni Octaviar in Semarang on Tuesday (8/9). The inspection was conducted to check the readiness of facilities, infrastructure, and the governance of these three programmes to ensure they operate according to national standards and policies.

“We welcome the field inspection by Maj. Gen. TNI Beni Octaviar to ensure that the MBG, Sekolah Rakyat, and Village Cooperative programmes run optimally in Semarang,” said Agustina.

During his visit, Beni emphasised the importance of strengthening communication and coordination between relevant departments and regional officials. This was deemed crucial following changes in the regulations and governance of cooperatives.

He also requested that technical mitigation plans be drafted in writing to anticipate potential issues when new policies are implemented on the ground. “This regional inspection is important to directly observe potential obstacles in the field. Every region’s condition is different, so new rules and governance need to be understood collectively,” said Beni.

Regarding the KKMP, the Semarang City Government continues to monitor developments in every area. The physical construction of the KKMP Sampangan outlet is reported to have reached 100 per cent, while its business activities show an increase in turnover every month. Meanwhile, KKMP Dadapsari, which utilises the facilities of the Dadapsari Village, is also operating productively with a stable turnover trend.

Agustina stated that the differing conditions of each area are taken into consideration in the management of the KKMP. Evaluations and mapping of supporting facilities will be conducted periodically to ensure the programme runs optimally.

“Synergy between regional authorities, the TNI, and other stakeholders is the key to ensuring the benefits of these programmes are felt equally by the citizens,” she said.
