Mayor Farhan: Bandung Zoo Investment Opportunities Reach Rp50 Billion
Bandung, West Java (ANTARA) - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan stated that investment opportunities for managing Bandung Zoo exceed Rp50 billion in the first two years. “Because the budget to be managed is also substantial. That is, the investment potential could be above Rp50 billion. So, it must be a conservation institution with very strong management capabilities,” Farhan said in Bandung, West Java, on Monday. Farhan revealed that the restructuring and management process for Bandung Zoo is entering a crucial stage with opportunities for cooperation opened to legal conservation institutions. He mentioned that 85 conservation institutions have been invited to participate in the selection process for the utilisation and management of the zoo. “The key is that they (prospective managers) must have an excellent reputation,” he said. According to Farhan, the selection process is conducted strictly and supervised by various parties, from the central government, provincial government, to the city government. In addition, the Bandung City Government is also opening space for public participation as part of transparency in determining the new manager. Farhan assessed that the high public attention and interest from international conservation institutions is a positive signal for the future of Bandung Zoo. “This becomes our motivation to form good and internationally standard management,” he stated. Furthermore, Farhan revealed that from dozens of registered institutions, only participants with the best reputation and capacity will be selected. He targets the selection process to narrow down by the end of April 2026, prioritising professional standards in determining the new manager.
