PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk (Mayname Indonesia), through its Sharia Business Unit (UUS), has collaborated with the Muslim Pro platform to introduce the Amanah Pro initiative. This programme serves as a platform for individuals preparing for the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages, aiming to bridge the gap between the high desire to perform the fifth pillar of Islam and the financial constraints often faced due to insufficient savings.

The initiative stems from a recent survey conducted by Muslim Pro, which revealed a significant disparity between the intention to perform Hajj and the actual financial readiness. The survey, involving 585 respondents, highlighted a strong desire to visit the Baitullah, yet noted that this is not accompanied by adequate financial preparation. Notably, 81 per cent of respondents expressed a high desire to perform Hajj and sought a platform to assist in their preparations. Furthermore, 65 per cent admitted to rarely or never saving regularly for Hajj or Umrah, despite these being significant life goals. Additionally, 83 per cent of respondents cited unstable income as the primary reason for the difficulty in saving for these religious obligations.

“The results of this survey show that the desire of the Indonesian Muslim community to perform the Hajj pilgrimage is very strong. However, many still face challenges in taking the first step and maintaining consistency in preparing Hajj funds,” said Romy H. Buchari, Director of Sharia Banking at Maybank Indonesia, during the Amanah Pro media gathering in Central Jakarta on Monday (8/6/2026).

Romy explained that the Sharia-based Hajj and Umrah planning platform, developed by Muslim Pro in conjunction with Maybank Syariah, aims to help users set pilgrimage targets, build planned saving habits, and monitor progress through an integrated digital experience.

“Through this collaboration, Maybank Indonesia’s role is to ensure that every step towards Baitullah is supported by a strong, safe, and trusted Sharia financial foundation. Funds saved through Amanah Pro are placed in Sharia accounts regulated and supervised by the OJK (Financial Services Authority), allowing customers to build saving habits with greater peace of mind and confidence,” he added.
