PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk recorded a net profit of Rp 698 billion in the first half of 2026, representing a 21.2 per cent increase year-on-year. This performance was supported by the strengthening of core business, growth in net interest income, and maintained asset quality amidst global economic uncertainty.

President Director of Maybank Indonesia, Steffano Ridwan, stated that the company was able to maintain positive performance despite challenges such as high interest rates and global uncertainty. “This performance reflects the strength of our core banking business and the disciplined execution of strategic priorities amidst rising interest rates and global uncertainty that continues to shadow the domestic market,” Steffano said in a written statement in Jakarta on Friday.

In the first half of 2026, Net Interest Income (NII) grew by 3.9 per cent compared to the same period last year, supported by a decrease in interest expenses. Meanwhile, the Net Interest Margin (NIM) was recorded at 4.3 per cent.

On the other hand, Non-Interest Income (NOII) decreased by 5.4 per cent year-on-year. However, fee-based income increased by 8 per cent, driven by growth in wealth services revenue of 39 per cent, automotive financing of 27.5 per cent, and retail banking services of 54.3 per cent. In line with this, Gross Operating Income (GOI) increased by 1.9 per cent to Rp 4.64 trillion.

From a balance sheet perspective, Maybank Indonesia’s total assets grew by 15.6 per cent to Rp 213.81 trillion as of June 2026. Credit quality also showed improvement, with the Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratio recorded at 2.1 per cent (gross) and 1.3 per cent (net), lower than the June 2025 position of 2.4 per cent (gross) and 1.5 per cent (net), respectively.

Lending increased by 3.8 per cent to Rp 126.28 trillion. This growth was supported by credit in the Global Banking segment, which rose 5 per cent to Rp 54.98 trillion, particularly from the Large Local Corporates segment which grew by 18 per cent, and Business Banking, which increased by 2lag 24.3 per cent. Meanwhile, credit managed through Community Financial Services (CFS), both retail and non-retail, grew by 2.9 per cent to Rp 71.30 trillion.
