Maybank Indonesia Launches ‘Fast Remittance’ Feature on M2U ID App

Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk (Maybank Indonesia) has partnered with NIUM, a provider of remittance and cross-border transaction services, to launch Fast Remittance, a digital foreign-currency transfer feature, on its M2U ID app.

Maybank Indonesia IT and Digital Director Bambang Andri Irawan said the launch formed part of the bank’s commitment to providing digital services relevant to customers’ needs, in line with its Humanising Financial Services mission.

“ We understand that cross-border transactions have become an important part of the financial activities of increasingly globally connected customers. With Fast Remittance, we want to provide an efficient international transfer experience at the touch of a button,” he said at the Maybank Indonesia–NIUM press conference, ‘Globally Connected with Fast Remittance on M2U ID’, in Jakarta on Thursday.

The collaboration brings together Maybank Indonesia’s digital banking capabilities and NIUM’s global payment network through the Fast Remittance feature on M2U ID. It is also intended to expand cross-border money transfer services, making the process faster, easier, safer and more transparent for customers.

Initially, Fast Remittance can be used to send money to Europe in euros (EUR), the United Kingdom in pounds sterling (GBP), Australia in Australian dollars (AUD), Hong Kong in Hong Kong dollars (HKD), and Singapore in Singapore dollars (SGD). The feature is also part of Maybank Indonesia’s development of its Transaction Banking solutions.

“Working with NIUM brings experience in speed, convenience and security,” said Maybank Indonesia Director of Community Financial Services Bianto Surodjo.

NIUM Executive Vice President for Asia Pacific Yogesh Sangle said the company had extensive experience facilitating cross-border transactions through its payment infrastructure and connections to global payment networks.

“NIUM is among the world’s top 50 fintech (financial technology) companies. We move large amounts of money across borders. But more importantly, I think everything underlying what we do is centred on the customer experience,” Yogesh said.

The Fast Remittance feature allows customers to transfer money across borders quickly at competitive exchange rates.

The fee is US$10 per transaction. Until December 2026, Maybank Indonesia is offering customers a special rate of US$2.50 per transaction.
