PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk (Maybank Indonesia), together with Maybank Group, held the Maybank Indonesia Sustainable Finance Forum 2026, bringing together key stakeholders in sustainable finance, namely regulators, financial service players, and industry players. The forum, held for the first time by Maybank Indonesia, featured a number of key speakers and panellists, including keynote speakers Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Friderica Widyasari Dewi, Acting Director General of Financial Sector Stability and Development Herman Saheruddin, and Deputy Minister of Industry Faisol Riza, and was attended by industry players.

President Director of Maybank Indonesia Steffano Ridwan said the transition to a low-carbon economy is increasingly becoming a strategic necessity for businesses amid rising demands for decarbonisation, climate risk management, and Net Zero Emission (NZE) targets. "As a financial institution committed to supporting the sustainability agenda through the implementation of sustainable finance, we encourage industry players to manage risks, capture growth opportunities, and access financing solutions that support sustainable business transformation," he said.

The Maybank Indonesia Sustainable Finance Forum 2026 brought together various stakeholders, including regulators and industry players, to discuss challenges in implementing sustainable finance and green economy investment opportunities. The forum opened with an investment outlook session discussing the impact of global economic and geopolitical developments on Indonesia’s growth prospects, strategies for mobilising private capital to accelerate transition investment, and the role of a low-carbon economy in strengthening competitiveness and driving long-term sustainable growth.

As a commitment to supporting the transition to a more sustainable economy, Maybank Indonesia officially introduced the Sustainable Shariah Restricted Investment Account (SRIA). Through this solution, customers not only benefit from investment instruments that comply with sharia values but also contribute to financing green projects. This product reflects Maybank Indonesia’s belief that responsible business and returns are not contradictory, but rather two aligned objectives. The existence of Sustainable SRIA affirms Maybank Indonesia’s position in presenting investment solutions that integrate sharia financial principles and sustainability in the Indonesian market.

Steffano emphasised that integrating sustainability issues into the financial landscape is no longer merely a regulatory compliance obligation, but a primary instrument in maintaining business competitiveness in both national and global markets. On the occasion, Group Chief Sustainability Officer of Maybank, Datuk Shahril Azuar Jimin, said the discussions confirmed that the transition to a sustainable economy is no longer a future agenda, but has become a strategic necessity for businesses. "Although the transition journey to a low-carbon economy will not be easy, the increasing awareness of stakeholders on this issue also presents great opportunities for economic growth, increased industrial competitiveness, and long-term value creation. At Maybank, we are committed to playing our role. Maybank has set a sustainable financing mobilisation target of RM300 billion by 2030 (equivalent to Rp 1,314 trillion, assuming an exchange rate of RM1=Rp4,380), and remains committed to continuing to support customers, industries, and economies across ASEAN in this transition journey," he said.

In Indonesia, the role of driving the acceleration of this transition is also consistently carried out by Maybank Indonesia. In line with the mission of Humanising Financial Services, Maybank Indonesia is present as a financial service provider as well as a strategic partner that empowers industry players to create real, measurable, and sustainable impact.
