Maya gives the lowdown on kissing

JAKARTA: Harpist Maya Hasan's cool and calm exterior when she
plays her beloved harp conceals her fiery spirit and passion.

But on a talk show called Kissing: Act or lust organized by
Eksotika Karmawibhangga Indonesia (EKI) dance company, she bared
all.

"We (Maya and hubby Richard Worotikan) have a special name for
French-kissing, it's called wleh wleh," she said with her tongue
darting in and out, much to the audience's delight.

When the host, puppeteer/singer Sujiwo Tejo, asked her what
she preferred, kissing on the cheeks, lips or wleh wleh, Maya
candidly said, "wleh wleh of course!"

She also said the difference between kissing in Indonesia and
kissing in a foreign country was that in "the West it's not
pliket (sticky)", she said, referring to the humid weather of
Jakarta.

The talk show was organized to precede EKI's production of
Gallery of Kisses; My words, my song, my dance, which will be
performed between Sept. 12 and Sept. 14.

Maya, Sujiwo, singer Syaharani, presenter Nico Siahaan and
actor/dancer Rudy Wowor will all be performing. -- JP
