May Day: Prabowo Wants Ride-Hailing Fee Cuts Below 10 Percent
At the May Day 2026 event in Monas on Friday (1/5/2026), Prabowo initially posed a question to the attending workers’ masses. Prabowo asked whether ride-hailing drivers wanted the fee cut for applicators to be just 10 percent. “You want 10%, right? I say here, I do not agree with 10%. It must be below 10%,” said Prabowo, greeted with cheers from the attending workers’ masses. “It’s too easy; you sweat, they get the money, sorry. If you don’t want to join us, don’t bother trying in Indonesia,” he added. Prabowo reaffirmed that he had signed Presidential Regulation No. 27 of 2026 on the Protection of Online Transportation Workers. According to him, online transportation workers must be provided with BPJS Health and a minimum wage share of 92 percent. “Earlier I said they must be given work accident insurance, BPJS Health will also be provided, and the revenue share from 80% for drivers, now becoming a minimum of 92% for drivers,” he added.
