May Day 2026: Workers and Ride-Hailing Drivers Convoy on Motorcycles to Monas

Observations from detikcom at the Semanggi underpass in Central Jakarta on Friday (1/5/2026) at 07:30 WIB showed a procession of workers convoying through the Semanggi area towards Monas. They rode motorcycles two-up to participate in May Day 2026 at Monas. There were groups of workers uniformly wearing red T-shirts and white T-shirts featuring red-and-white imagery. Masses from online motorcycle taxi drivers (ojol) also joined the convoy. They carried their association flags, which were waved along the road as they passed. For information, the peak celebration of International Labour Day or May Day 2026 is being held today at the National Monument (Monas). President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend the May Day celebration. A total of 24,980 combined personnel have been deployed to secure the May Day 2026 activities centred at Monas up to the DPR/MPR area. The involved forces consist of elements from the National Police (Polri), Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, and other security units.
