Jakarta (ANTARA) - As many as 12 long-distance trains (KAJJ) departing from Gambir Station between 05:15 and 11:00 WIB will stop at Jatinegara Station during the International Labour Day (May Day) commemoration on 1 May 2026.

KAI Daop 1 Jakarta’s Public Relations Manager, Franoto Wibowo, stated that this policy is implemented to maintain service efficiency amid potential traffic density approaching Gambir Station, due to the May Day Fiesta 2026 centred in the National Monument (Monas) area.

“The Labour Day activities are expected to increase vehicle volume on several main roads in Jakarta, particularly access routes to Gambir Station,” he said in Jakarta on Thursday.

The 12 KAJJ in question are: KA 7010C (Additional Train) on the Gambir – Yogyakarta route departing at 05:15 WIB, KA 6 Argo Semeru on the Gambir – Surabaya route departing at 06:20 WIB, KA 50F Purwojaya on the Gambir – Kroya/Cilacap route departing at 07:00 WIB.

Then, KA 132B Parahyangan on the Gambir – Bandung route departing at 07:30 WIB, KA 46 Taksaka on the Gambir – Yogyakarta route departing at 07:45 WIB, KA 2B Argo Bromo Anggrek on the Gambir – Surabaya route departing at 08:20 WIB.

Subsequently, KA 16 Argo Dwipangga on the Gambir – Solo route departing at 08:50 WIB, KA 118B Gunungjati on the Gambir – Semarang route departing at 09:00 WIB, KA 7006 Batavia on the Gambir – Solo route departing at 09:35 WIB.

Next, KA 40 Sembrani on the Gambir – Surabaya route departing at 10:20 WIB, KA 62B Manahan on the Gambir – Solo route departing at 10:30 WIB, and KA 122B Cakrabuana on the Gambir – Cirebon route departing at 10:50 WIB.

Franoto stated that the stop at Jatinegara Station is a form of service enhancement for passengers to ensure they can travel comfortably, safely, and on time.

“The train schedules remain as stated on the tickets. We urge customers to pay attention to departure times, arrive early at the station, and adjust travel plans to the station according to traffic conditions,” he said.

He added that KAI Daop 1 Jakarta has conducted outreach to customers through various communication channels, including SMS and WhatsApp blasts.
