May 2026 Long Weekend: Hundreds of Train Tickets from Gambir and Senen Still Available for Booking

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Daerah Operasi 1 Jakarta records that 123,325 tickets are still available for journeys during the long holiday period (long weekend) from 13-18 May 2026. These hundreds of tickets are available for long-distance train departures from Gambir Station and Pasar Senen Station to various regions. “As of now, approximately 123,325 seats are still available for the public to use for travel during the long holiday,” said Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, in a written statement confirmed by Kompas.com on Wednesday (13/4/2026). The public is urged to book tickets promptly through KAI’s official channels to secure travel schedules that meet their needs. According to Franoto, during the period from 13 to 18 May 2026, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta will operate a total of 68 regular train journeys each day. Overall, the total seating capacity provided across all journeys reaches 242,169. “We see high public enthusiasm for travelling by train. However, the public need not worry as tickets to various destinations are still available,” he explained. The highest departure volume so far is recorded on 13 May 2026, or this Wednesday, with 35,718 passengers. This is followed by 14 May 2026 with 33,555 passengers.
