Maxim to Implement Eight Percent App Commission for Bike-Hailing Partners from 1 July

Maxim Indonesia has announced it will implement an application commission of eight percent starting 1 July 2026 for all two-wheeled transport service partners (Maxim Bike), as an adjustment to Presidential Regulation Number 27 of 2026. The company stated that this policy will be accompanied by affordable travel fares for users and opportunities for driver partners to earn a larger share of income from each completed trip. “The implementation of the eight percent application commission is a form of adjustment to government regulations. We respect this policy and are committed to maintaining a balance between the company’s operational sustainability, the welfare of driver partners, and service affordability for the public,” said Maxim Indonesia Development Director Dirhamsyah, via an official statement received in Jakarta on Monday. “We continue to maintain affordable fares for users while providing stable income opportunities for driver partners. Our goal is to balance the interests of all parties, and we believe this policy will further strengthen public trust in Maxim’s services and platform as a whole,” he said. Maxim stated it previously applied application commissions ranging from eight to 15 percent, depending on the operational region and vehicle type, with an average of around 12 percent. According to the company, this rate made Maxim one of the platforms with a competitive commission scheme in the market. Along with the implementation of this policy, Maxim also stated it remains committed to providing protection for driver partners and users through the Yayasan Pengemudi Selamat Sejahtera Indonesia (YPSSI) programme, which provides compensation for partners or users who experience accidents or other misfortunes while using Maxim’s services. Previously, President Prabowo Subianto signed Presidential Regulation Number 27 of 2026, which cuts the income deductions taken by app companies from online motorcycle taxi drivers to eight percent.
