Maxim Research: Age Group 26–40 Years Most Frequent Ride-Hailing Users
JAKARTA – The productive age group has emerged as the primary driver of online transportation service growth throughout 2025. Across more than 400 cities, users aged 26 to 40 years have consistently dominated both in terms of customer numbers and booking activity.
This data was disclosed by Maxim Indonesia in its 2025 mobility trends report released on 26 February 2026. The report maps user composition by age and identifies booking activity distribution across various regions.
Dirhamsyah, Development Director of Maxim Indonesia, stated: “The productive age group remains the primary user of online transportation services, particularly in cities with high economic activity. However, we are also observing that online transportation services are being utilised by various age groups as a solution for daily mobility.”
The dominance of the productive age group is also reflected in transaction figures. The 26 to 40-year age group generated 50 per cent of Maxim’s total ride-hailing orders nationally. Users aged 11 to 25 years contributed 33.5 per cent of total bookings, whilst the 41 to 60-year age group accounted for 16.5 per cent of overall transactions.
Within the 11 to 25-year age segment, Jakarta contributed 8 per cent of total national users, followed by Palembang at 4 per cent. For the 26 to 40-year age group, Jakarta again dominated with a 10 per cent contribution, trailed by Semarang at 5 per cent. A similar pattern emerged in the 41 to 60-year age group, with Jakarta recording the highest contribution at 12 per cent, whilst Semarang followed with 6 per cent.
The high participation of the productive age group underscores the relevance of online transportation services as a vital support mechanism for work-related activities, education, and daily mobility needs. Drawing data from hundreds of cities across Indonesia, this report provides a comprehensive overview of ride-hailing service usage patterns throughout 2025.
