MAXHUB Transforms from Participant to Leader, Proposes Two New IEC International Standards
The 11th Chairman’s Advisory Group (CAG) and working group meeting of IEC/TC100 (Audio, Video and Multimedia Systems and Equipment) was recently held in Budapest, Hungary. Experts from more than 10 countries exchanged views on standard drafting, new project initiatives, and various technological innovations. At the event, two new international standard proposals submitted by MAXHUB technical experts Chen Cai and Li Qin received initial recognition and passed the CAG review process. Both proposals will now proceed to the next development stage, followed by a Preliminary Work Item (PWI) vote. This achievement marks an important moment for MAXHUB, which has transformed from a participant to a driver in global standards development. This transformation strengthens MAXHUB’s position in the global audio-visual industry.
The proposal submitted by Li Qin is titled ‘User’s Quality of Experience (QoE) of AI-mediated Visual Interaction on Multimedia Conferencing Services’. It examines the impact of AI-based visual interaction on user experience quality in multimedia conferencing services. The proposal also aims to establish standardised evaluation methods to assess user experience in various AI-based visual interaction scenarios. If officially adopted, this standard will serve as a theoretical foundation and practical guide for optimising user experience and developing AI-based intelligent multimedia conferencing products globally.
Meanwhile, the proposal drafted by Chen Cai is titled ‘Audio, Video and Multimedia Systems and Equipment for Education and Training’. It seeks to establish a unified standards framework for various education and training scenarios. According to MAXHUB, the unique characteristics of the education sector mean that international standards research for educational support devices and systems remains very limited. The proposal will develop a set of standards covering the entire industry chain, from hardware configuration to interactive experiences for end users.
To date, MAXHUB has led and participated in drafting more than 100 national, industry, and association standards. By proposing these two latest IEC international standards, MAXHUB aims to contribute its industry experience and Chinese expertise to support the high-quality development of the global intelligent education and smart conferencing industries.
