Maung Schools 2026: Requirements and Registration Process for West Java's Exceptional Students' High Schools and Vocational Schools
The West Java provincial education department has set stringent requirements for prospective students applying to Maung Schools 2026, including mandatory participation in the Academic Ability Test (TKA) and submission of achievement certificates. The Maung Schools program, a flagship initiative by the West Java provincial government, no longer employs a zonal admission system.
Purwanto, head of the West Java education department, stated that all admission quotas are allocated through the competency pathway. ‘There will no longer be a zonal pathway in Maung Schools,’ he said in Bandung on Wednesday, 20 May 2026.
A total of 21,000 seats are available across 28 public high schools and 13 public vocational high schools participating in the Maung Schools program.
The requirements are divided into three categories: general, document and achievement, and residency and recommendation.
Online applications can be submitted via https://maung.spmb.jabarprov.go.uk/.
Results will be announced on 8 June 2026, with re registration for successful candidates required on 9-10 June.
Those who do not qualify for Maung Schools may still apply for regular SPMB stages 1 or 2 at other schools.
