"Maung" Prabowo Rolls Out in the Philippines Thanks to TNI AU's Airbus A400M
JAKARTA - The Maung MV3 Garuda Limousine tactical vehicle, typically used by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Indonesia, was transported to Cebu, Philippines, using an Airbus A400M aircraft from the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU).
The Maung vehicle, which suddenly picked up Prabowo in the Philippines, drew particular attention during the 48th ASEAN Summit on 7-8 May 2026.
According to a statement from the Indonesian Presidential Secretariat on Sunday (10/4/2026), this step demonstrates the country’s readiness in security and logistical support, while also showcasing Indonesia’s trust in its domestic defence industry products for international forums.
The presidential vehicle, a product of PT Pindad made by the nation’s own children, had arrived in Cebu earlier on 4 May 2026.
The Maung MV3 Garuda Limousine is the latest variant from the Maung family developed by PT Pindad.
This vehicle is specifically designed from the MV3 platform as the official vehicle for the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, with high standards of security, comfort, and performance.
“The use of the Maung in international forums is not merely as a means of transportation, but as a symbol of national independence, self-confidence, and progress in Indonesia’s national industry. The Maung becomes a symbol of diplomacy. From within the country, for Indonesia, present on the world stage,” said Teddy.
Teddy explained that for Indonesia, the Maung’s journey to Cebu serves as a symbol of the country’s readiness to bring national strategic products to the international level.
The presence of the vehicle also shows that Indonesia’s defence industry products can stand side by side and are trusted to support state agendas at the highest regional forum in Southeast Asia.
After being used by Prabowo during the 48th ASEAN Summit series, the Maung MV3 Garuda Limousine returned to Indonesia using the TNI AU’s Airbus A400M aircraft, concluding the diplomatic journey of this homegrown vehicle in the Philippines.
