Mataram Mayor's New Office Project Overpaid by Rp 851.5 Million

The new Mataram mayor’s office project has been found to have an overpayment amounting to Rp 851.5 million. This overpayment was discovered following an examination by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).

The Mataram City Government (Pemkot) is now following up on the finding. Mataram Regional Secretary Lalu Alwan Basri stressed that the city government will not remain silent if there are administrative violations or financial losses in projects involving third parties.

“Yes (we are proactive), there are consequences if it is not returned; we will blacklist them if it is not resolved,” Alwan said on Monday (22/6/2026).

Alwan revealed that the Mataram city government has issued a reprimand and requested that the payment error be resolved within 60 days of receiving the BPK’s Audit Result Report (LHP). The city government will pursue the matter again if it is not settled within that timeframe.

“We have requested a deadline; before the 60 days are up, we will ask again about the progress. We are looking at the BPK’s recommendations. If the finding is administrative in nature, we will certainly resolve it. But if it involves a loss or a refund, we will demand the return of the funds,” Alwan stated.

For context, the total overpayment from the BPK audit in the new mayor’s office project, valued at Rp 851 million, is divided into two categories. The overpayment for management consultancy (MK) reached Rp 426 million, while the physical construction work saw an overpayment of Rp 418 million.

As is known, the first phase of the construction of the new mayor’s office on Jalan Gajah Mada, Mataram, consumed a budget of Rp 60 billion sourced from the Mataram regional budget (APBD). This budget consisted of Rp 58 billion for physical works and Rp 1.8 billion for consultancy supervision services.
