Mataram Mayor’s New Office Project Fast-Tracked, Targeting 27% Completion by Year-End
Construction of the second phase of Mataram Mayor’s new office, known as Bale Mentaram, is being accelerated. The project, located on Jalan Gajah Mada in Mataram, is targeted to reach 27% completion by the end of 2026.
Mataram Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency head Lale Widiahning said she was optimistic the project could meet the 27% target by year-end. She was also confident the contractor was prepared to use overtime work to reach it.
“We are optimistic because they were willing to submit a bid and already understood the risks. That gave us confidence to sign the contract,” Lale said in an interview on Thursday (15 October 2026).
“Today, various materials for the piling work have started arriving and will soon be installed. That is a good sign, and we hope the work can be completed in line with the target,” she added.
Lale said the contractor would work overtime on a three-shift schedule every day to speed up progress towards the 27% year-end target. The shifts will run from 7am to 3pm, 3pm to 10pm, and 10pm to 7am.
“With this division of working hours, the project can be pushed forward as much as possible,” Lale said.
The second phase of construction is being carried out under a three-year, multi-year scheme running from 2026 to 2028.
This year, the Mataram municipal government has allocated around Rp58 billion. The funding will focus on construction at several points, including the main structure, piling, basement-floor concreting, the rear section of the first floor, and the building’s left and right wings on the second floor.
The new Mataram Mayor’s office is being built by PT Damai Indah Utama (PT DIU) under a negotiated contract worth Rp170.6 billion. The funding comes from the Mataram municipal government’s Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).
