Mataram Launches Three Sub-Districts as Beautiful Villages 2026

The Mataram City Government has officially launched three sub-districts as Beautiful Villages 2026 under the Desa Cinta Statistik (Desa Cantik) programme. This initiative is designed to strengthen data governance in each sub-district. The three targeted sub-districts are Ampenan Tengah, Ampenan Selatan, and Dayan Peken. Mataram Mayor Mohan Roliskana stated that the Desa Cantik programme is expected to build a data-based governance system between the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and local government. “I see this as important, particularly in ensuring the distribution of government-initiated social programmes, so that there is no mis-targeting. We must have an accurate data base,” said Mohan on Wednesday (15/4/2026). He also hopes that Mataram City can enter the top 10 nationally in the Desa Cantik programme evaluation. Meanwhile, the Head of BPS Mataram City, Mohammad Reza Nugraha Kusumono, assured that his agency will continue to strengthen data governance at the regional level through this programme. In addition, Reza said that the public can access data in the form of infographics through the pintar.go.id website available in each sub-district. “The sub-district apparatus manages good data, the impact will be on the community when they need data, or the local government when they need data. The data is consistent with what is needed,” said Reza.
