The Mataram Population and Civil Registration Office (Dukcapil) will maintain administrative services during the Eid holiday period for 1447 Hijri in 2026. The decision aims to address the anticipated surge in service requests, which typically increases twofold during the Eid break.

“Based on last year’s experience, many residents needed population administration services. For instance, some Mataram residents happened to be visiting and required such services. Additionally, we had cases where residents lost their identity cards whilst preparing to return to other regions,” said Mansur, Head of Mataram’s Dukcapil Office, on Tuesday (10 March 2026).

According to Mansur, document losses frequently occur as residents prepare to depart for their destinations outside the city.

“Many residents lose their identity cards when preparing to travel. We want to assist them, as it is unfortunate when documents go missing. From last year’s experience, many people lost various documents, including identity cards, birth certificates, and family cards,” he added.

Mansur explained that services will operate on 23-24 March 2026 with half-day or extended hours, adjusted according to field conditions. Services will be provided at the Dukcapil Mataram office, whilst services at Mataram Mall will be coordinated with other government departments.

According to Mataram Dukcapil records, more than 100 administrative services were provided during last year’s Eid holiday. The most frequently requested service was identity card replacement due to lost documents.

The central government has issued Ministry of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform Circular No. 2 of 2026 regarding adjustments to official duties before and after religious holidays. The circular designates work-from-anywhere (WFA) policy for Nyepi and Eid 2026 on 16, 17, 25, 26, and 27 March 2026.
