The Mataram City Government (Pemkot) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has proposed 200 positions for prospective civil servants (CPNS) to the central government. This proposal follows the retirement or end of service for hundreds of employees.

For information, the deadline for submitting formation proposals set by the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) ends on 31 March 2026. The Head of the Mataram City Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM), Taufik Priyono, stated that they have requested an extension of the submission time.

“We have already submitted the extension request; it seems time will be given to discuss it first. Because this is not just about submitting formation needs; the region’s financial capacity must also be considered,” said the Head of the Mataram City BKPSDM, Taufik Priyono, when confirmed on Tuesday (7/4/2026).

Yoyok, his familiar nickname, explained that the 200-formation proposal consists of 80% CPNS and 20% government employees with work agreements (PPPK).

“We are using a zero-growth consideration, just replacements for retirements. Usually, it will be approved according to the proposal, as long as it is reasonable. For example, East Lombok plans to propose 3,000. We don’t know yet if their proposal will be fully accepted,” he clarified.

He added that approval of the formations greatly depends on each region’s financial capacity, given the maximum personnel expenditure limit of 30% of the total budget.

“It will depend on each region’s finances,” he continued.

Yoyok stated that they have coordinated with the Ministry of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan RB) regarding the proposal. If there are no obstacles, Pemkot Mataram will soon send the Absolute Responsibility Statement Letter (SPTJM).

“If today, for example, the Secretary has time to discuss and the Secretary agrees with the concept we proposed, then it just needs the Mayor’s signature for the absolute responsibility letter, the SPTJM, and we will send it today,” he said.

Regarding the schedule, Yoyok conveyed that CPNS registration is estimated to take place in the third quarter of 2026. “Usually in the third quarter, and the appointment can be at the beginning of the year,” he concluded.
