Mataram City Government Permits Only 5 Per Cent of Staff Leave During Eid Holiday
The Mataram City Government has restricted leave allocations for state civil apparatus (ASN) under the Mataram City Government ahead of the 2026 Eid holiday. This policy has been implemented to ensure public services remain optimal throughout the Eid break.
“Leave allocations revert to individual regional offices. To ensure all services continue running smoothly, we have imposed restrictions,” said Baiq Nelly Kusumawati, Assistant III of the Mataram City Secretariat, on Thursday (12 March 2026).
“We have established a maximum of 5 per cent leave allocation, and this is specifically for priority cases or selective approval for colleagues travelling outside the region,” she added.
Kusumawati noted that leave provisions apply only to ASN. However, full-time government contract workers (PPPK) and part-time PPPK staff are not entitled to special leave outside state responsibility (CTLN), extended leave, or compassionate leave.
“Full-time or part-time PPPK staff do not have access to these three types of leave. Should a PPPK staff member wish to take leave for reasons such as marriage, they would use their annual leave,” she explained.
Previously, the Mataram City Government did not implement work-from-anywhere (WFA) policy for thousands of ASN on 16-17 March and 25-27 March 2026. The rationale was that the distances between ASN offices and their residences were not considered substantial.
As is known, the central government issued Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Circular Letter Number 2 of 2026 regarding the adjustment of official duties before and after religious holidays. Work-from-home arrangements for Nyepi and Eid 2026 will occur on 16, 17, 25, 26, and 27 March 2026.
