The Mataram City Government (Pemkot) has allocated IDR 1 billion to repair damaged roads in the elite Geguntur residential area, Jempong Baru Village, Sekarbela District. The funding comes from Mataram’s 2026 Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).

“For this year’s road repairs in the elite complex, located in front of Mataram City Parliament, the budget is approximately IDR 1 billion,” said Lale Widiahning, Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Department (PUPR) Mataram, when confirmed on Sunday, 1 March 2026.

The damaged road in the Geguntur residential complex is the focus of repair work by Mataram’s PUPR Department this year. This comes after several other damaged road sections in Mataram have been completed, including Swadaya Road, Beo Road, Bebidas Road, and the Brimob Barracks area.

“We also have interventions there this year. Perhaps around one section, which could be approximately 200 metres. One alley because the main road was already done last year. So we’re left with sections leading into the alleyways. The road width is about 4.5 metres. Hopefully we can cover a longer stretch,” explained Lale.

Additionally, Mataram’s PUPR Department will construct a retention pond this year to address flooding on Southern Ring Road, Sekarbela District. The retention pond will also be built using approximately IDR 1 billion, with an area of 20 are and is targeted to hold around 40,000 cubic metres of water.
