Mataram City and Pengzhou City Forge Economic Cooperation

The Mataram City Government, West Nusa Tenggara Province, has established a sister city cooperation with the Pengzhou City Government, Sichuan Province, China, in the fields of economy and trade. The signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Mataram City Government and the Pengzhou City Government was carried out directly by Mataram Mayor Mohan Roliskana and Pengzhou Deputy Mayor Mr Lu Min, witnessed by a delegation from Pengzhou and officials from the Mataram City Government, at the Mataram Mayor’s Office hall on Tuesday. On that occasion, Mayor Mohan Roliskana expressed hope that the cooperation could serve as a means to strengthen economic relations between Pengzhou City and Mataram City. “In the future, this cooperation can provide real benefits for the people of both parties,” he said. The Mataram City Government also welcomed the business matching initiative that brings together business actors from both regions as a concrete step to build long-term partnerships. In addition to economic cooperation, the mayor stated that the Mataram City Government views strengthening cooperation in the fields of culture and humanity as important. “Moreover, both cities possess cultural wealth that is a source of identity and pride for their communities,” he said.
