Mataram BKD Records Accumulated Land and Building Tax Arrears Exceeding IDR 20 Billion

The Mataram City Regional Financial Agency (BKD) has recorded accumulated Land and Building Tax (PBB) arrears exceeding IDR 20 billion. The majority of these tax debts originate from taxpayers predominantly from low-income communities (MBR) who have failed to settle their obligations for over a decade.

“Most of the current PBB arrears are in books one and two, which belong to low-income residents,” said Head of the Mataram City BKD, Muhamad Ramayoga, on Tuesday (28/7/2026).

Ramayoga explained that the arrears have accumulated over a lengthy period. The annual tax assessment amounts range from IDR 5,000 to IDR 25,000 per year, depending on the Sales Value of Taxable Object (NJOP). The total figure has ballooned due to the accumulation of unpaid taxes from thousands of residents over more than ten years.

“It is around IDR 20 billion. The arrears date back to the transfer from the State Treasury Service Office (KPPN),” he added.

Ramayoga stated that the BKD is currently seeking consultation and technical guidance from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) as well as directives from the Mayor of Mataram. This is being done to find a solution to the arrears issue.

“We are looking for a solution. We are considering what steps to take so as not to burden them. Hopefully, there will be a tax amnesty policy. We are hoping for that,” Ramayoga concluded.
