Massive Fire Engulfs Rubber Factory in Tanah Tinggi, Tangerang

A massive fire has struck the Tanah Tinggi sub-district in Tangerang City, Banten. The fire is said to have originated from a rubber factory.

In footage circulating on social media early on Monday (22/6/2026), flames could be seen soaring high from a distance. The fire appeared to spread widely across the affected area, turning the night sky orange.

“(The fire location is) Tanah Tinggi, a rubber factory. If I’m not mistaken, it produces sandals,” said a Tangerang City fire officer when contacted.

The fire department stated it received the report on Sunday (21/6) at 22:35 WIB. Personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene.

“We received the report at 22:35 WIB. Personnel have been deployed from headquarters, unit offices, and posts,” the officer said.

The fire department confirmed that a total of 16 fire engines have been deployed to tackle the blaze. “Six engines from headquarters, ten from unit offices. A total of 16 engines,” he added.
