Massive Fire at Sungai Duri Market in West Kalimantan

A total of 48 shophouses in the Sungai Duri Market area, Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan, caught fire on Thursday (20/8) evening. The fire was reported to have started at around 6.15 p.m. Western Indonesian Time. Firefighters were still carrying out cooling operations at the scene until around 10.00 p.m. Western Indonesian Time. The cause of the fire is not yet known, but the flames are suspected to have first been seen from one of the shophouses located in the middle of the row of buildings.
