Masses Commit to Overseeing Realisation of Free Nutritious Meal Programme Beneficiary Target

A mass action calling themselves Simpatisan MBG Malang Raya has committed to overseeing the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Programme until it realises its beneficiary target. “This target for beneficiaries must be realised, we support it,” said one of the initiators of the Grand Assembly and Joint Exercise of Simpatisan MBG Malang Raya, Raden Djoni Sudjatmoko, during the event at Alun-Alun Tugu, Malang City, East Java, on Saturday. According to an official statement cited from the National Nutrition Agency website at BGN.go.id, the MBG programme is targeted to reach as many as 82.9 million beneficiaries by 2026. Djoni assessed that many students in every school are happy with the presence of MBG. He also judged that the government has demonstrated consistent steps in addressing various issues that have emerged, such as operational management problems within the Nutritional Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG). Similarly, when corruption issues implicated a senior official of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), the central government under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto immediately took firm action. “It can be said there are zero mistakes at the lower levels that are already running, except for those far from supervision in remote areas where a better oversight system must indeed be created,” he said. He stated that if there is a mistake in the programme’s implementation, the best course is not to disband it but to carry out a process of improvement. According to him, it is through such evaluation that MBG will run even better in the future. “Basically, we agree with the BGN’s policy decisions. When there is an invitation to re-discuss, we accept the results, whatever they may be,” he said. The Grand Assembly and Joint Exercise of Simpatisan MBG Malang Raya, attended by thousands of participants, ran from 07.00 to 10.50 WIB. The gathered crowd repeatedly expressed thanks to President Prabowo Subianto for showing concern for children’s nutritional fulfilment by establishing the MBG Programme. A number of people were seen carrying banners with a dark blue background featuring the face of Prabowo Subianto. At one point of the action, a white cloth banner was displayed reading “Petition of Support #82 Million PM (beneficiaries), Prabowo is Good”.
