Massage Therapist in East Flores Raped Disabled Woman Four Times Using Therapy Pretext
A man working as a massage therapist, identified by the initials SSO (38), a resident of Titehena District, East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), has allegedly raped a woman with a disability, identified as MKL (27). Police revealed that SSO is suspected of having sexually assaulted the victim four times between October and November 2025.
The Head of Criminal Investigation at the East Flores Police, Iptu Fardan Adi, stated that the alleged criminal act against the person with a disability began when the victim’s family requested the perpetrator’s assistance for therapy or treatment. However, the victim was instead sexually assaulted. “The victim’s family requested assistance to treat the victim through therapy. However, during the process, the victim was exploited through deception to be sexually assaulted,” Famed said when confirmed on Wednesday.
Based on the investigation, Fardan revealed that SSO had sexually assaulted the victim four times. Additionally, SSO is known to be a local village official. Investigators have secured several pieces of evidence, including witness statements, medical examination results (visum), psychological expert testimony, and the suspect’s confession. Based on this evidence, the case has been escalated to the investigation stage.
“We have moved to the investigation stage and have named the reported individual as a suspect,” he said.
Despite being named a suspect, SSO has not yet been detained. Fardan noted that this decision was made on humanitarian grounds, as the suspect’s wife has recently given birth and still requires assistance to care for her newborn. “Detention has not yet been carried out,” Fardan concluded.
